He has lost all his baby feathers and looks like one of those skinny hairless dogs, dark and wrinkly, but now is starting to get some feathers He had to work so hard to get up and out on top of the edge of nest. It took him about 30 minutes yesterday to get in that position and he had to stop frequently after every little move to rest as his wings are so big, clumsy and heavy. He was so close to the edge that I thought he was going to fall off or take off His wings are so large and heavy for his little body that he can hardly lift them up. Once he gets up and out on the ledge, he looks out so funny and then down and sort of gets a little dizzy. I wonder if he worries about how he will get out of there some day. Does it even occur to him that he will be able to fly out at some point? |

He squirted and then practically rolled down into the nest to
take a nap and recuperate. He sure seems to be keeping that nest clean though.

Well, it has been a month since we updated this site. As you can see Jr. has been practicing His take off & landings.
No He has not actually taken off yet. |
