We are presently home in Santa Barbara, CA preparing and studying for our next leg.  We plan to pick the boat up from Atlantic Yacht Basin, where she’s resting for the winter in Virginia, in early May 2005 and head north to Nova Scotia and maybe the St. Laurence Sea Way, with many, many stops along the way.  We’re tentatively planning right now to end the New England “official season” of summer 2005 in Newport Rhode Island.  We’ll then put Knotty Dog on a freighter to Martinique that will begin a whole new adventure in January 2006 heading South along the Leeward Islands to the top of Venezuela, across the northern part of Columbia, probably stopping in Cartagena, and then head for the San Blas Islands for a lengthy stop.

After some rest and relaxation in the San Blas Islands, we’ll continue West through the Panama Canal, stopping on the Western entrance to explore the Perle Islands of Panama and then head north to Golfito, Costa Rica.  We plan (but that could change) to put Knotty Dog on a freighter again in Golfito to Vancouver, Canada.

The San Juan and Gulf Islands will be Knotty Dog’s home port as we will continue to explore Alaska, British Columbia, Queen Charlotte Islands and cruise around Vancouver Island.
